The Story of My Family

Once upon a time, I was living in Utah, trying to date. (If any of you have dated in Utah, you know that it's really kinda the worst thing ever.) I was going on lots of dates with all the wrong guys and I started to think I should take a break from dating. My roommate convinced me to give dating another go by joining a dating app called Mutual. I swiped on a bunch of guys for maybe a couple hours, and then I didn't really use it anymore for awhile.
Fast forward a few months to January of 2017. I was going about my business when I suddenly got a notification on my phone that I didn't recognize. I had gotten a match on Mutual with a guy named Earl.
"Earl?? Ew. What kinda name is Earl??"
I'll admit I wasn't exactly excited to hear that a guy with an old southern man name was interested in me. I would have ignored it, but he sent me a message right away asking me to go on a date with him. As dating wasn't going super well I wasn't totally keen but I decided to try one more time. We set up a date for the next night (Tuesday, January 17, 2017) and left it at that.
I spent the day of our date at acapella rehearsal, telling everyone I was going on a date with an old man named Earl. When he texted me that he had arrived to pick me up, I was not even nervous cause I just really didn't care about this date. But as soon as I got in his car, I was very pleasantly surprised.
He was WAY cuter in real life than he was in his pictures!!
Right off the bat we started talking and laughing and I quickly felt like I could totally be myself. We went to Smith's to get ice cream and then we went to my apartment to eat it. We ended up hanging out for hours longer than we planned because we just clicked right away. At the end of the date, he asked if we could go on another date. I said I was free on Saturday, and his response was,
"I was thinking more like tomorrow."
Our First Date, January 17, 2017
We were together every day after that and have been ever since. We fell in love faster than I thought was even possible.

Earl's Brave Announcement of our Relationship Status

Exploring and Being Cute Constantly

Eventually we realized we wanted to get married. And after a year of dating, Earl finally proposed during a wintery photoshoot with our friend Christie.

We spent the next few months rapidly putting together a wedding plan and on May 12, 2018 we were sealed for time and eternity in the Meridian Idaho Temple. We were surrounded by friends and family and had the most amazing reception full of dancing and yummy treats.

I got a huge migraine while taking pictures so we stopped at McDonald's on the way home from the temple to get ice cream

We had the perfect wedding day, which lead into the perfect little fairy tale life. We moved into our first apartment, went on a Disneyland honeymoon and spent lots of time exploring and taking even more pictures all over Utah.

In case you don't know me, this is proof of how much I hate roller coasters or anything like roller coasters

After a wonderful 8 months of marriage, we got the best surprise of our lives. On January 20, 2019, we found out I was pregnant!

Our First Ultrasound
Our entire lives suddenly changed drastically and we could not have been happier about it. Going through pregnancy brought us so much closer as a couple and gave us something amazing to push us to become better people.

On September 16, 2019, after a fairly difficult pregnancy and a scheduled induction, our little redheaded son was born. We named him Earl Milo Van Wagoner V (but we call him Milo). He has been a little bundle of smiles and laughter ever since he was born and we can't imagine a world that he isn't a part of.

Milo's Blessing Day

As you can see, we are obsessed with our little boy. He is our ray of sunshine and we can't stop posting pictures of his huge smile. Now we are living happily ever after with our little ginger family and we hope you enjoy following us along on our journey.
